We are having more and more people in the usa in the world living here . The Price of land is going up per square foot . How much are we willing to pay Per Foot For A garbage Dump . Plus if you do not recycle glass you must gather the raw materials,refine them,process them,to turn them into a water glass you would use. This takes time.money,resources. Recycle glass ,you separate the colored ,green,dark etc ,ship it to a glass company .They melt it down, form it into a water glass you will buy that is cheaper And better. It is better because the Manufactor can lower his costs and he can give you a better product if you demand it.

Being an environmentalist I will tell you what I can on the computer because not recycling actually does a lot to the planet;

1) direct effects : if we don't recycle we have to cut down more oxygen producing and pollution removing trees.

2) secondary effects, plastics not recycled and put into landfills as well as electronic items leach lead and other toxins into the water table.

3) energy effects: it takes more energy to do initial production of products than it does to recycle products like metals and glass.

those are the 3 priority things. I think you should recycle bottles and glass each.

Not recycling glass means in a million years it will have broken down on its own. Better to recycle this material than add it to the waste stream or leave it be for a few centuries.

Recycling is such a sterile term. Check out what you can do with the glass that is recycled. Very cool. I've been checking out the flooring and counters. When finances permit, we're going this route.
