This is to settle a debate between my boyfriend and I.

In Canada we have a recycling truck that comes around the same day at the garbage truck to collect our recycling at the curb side.

Does everywhere in the USA have this service or do you have to take your recycling yourself to a recycling facility?

Thank

I don't even have curbside garbage pick up where I live. I have to haul my trash off to the "Recycling Center". Which is basically a mini dump. There are 3-4 dumpsters to throw trash in. Also there is a trailer for all recyclables.

Where recycling is concerned, it all depends where you live. Even in the USA, there are different laws and rules. We do have curbside pickup but it is usually on different days than the regular garbage and the plastic bins are yellow and green so that the recycling people know what it is. Again, it is different in various parts of our country.

I lived in an apartment with no curbside recycling service, but there was a center (at a school I believe?) just a few blocks down. Now I live in a house, and we do have curbside recycling. So your answer is yes and no... it just depends where you live (and probably how much you pay for taxes!)

Not all cities have this service. Some cities have very limited recycle facilities while others have mandatory recycling. Recycling is increasing, but some people have to put forth a big effort to recycle items.

this depends on where you live. my wife's family lives in western NY state it is mandatory. I live in WV there are many drop off points for recycling. In some places it is an option, however I in the past would put out my recycling until I saw the trash man just throw it in with the other trash
