Why do we have to clean the lint screen in dryers before each load? How does it save energy?

If the lint blocks the flow of air, you have to run it longer to get the clothes dry. So the dryer works longer to get the stuff dry and thus uses more energy. Just clean the lint trap each time you use the dryer. It's so easy and saves you money (and energy) in the long run.

It could be a fire hazard. If you clean it out, it helps the efficiency of your dryer.
