Do you think it would be weird to go into a family owned party store and ask them if you could buy their empty returned monster energy cans? You see I am trying to build a wall of monster energy cans and find it alot cheaper to just offer to buy their empty cans off of them at 10 cents each.

Party store? Never heard that one. I was thinking California for the 10 cent remark.

You're better off buying the cans. Here's why:

10 cent redemption is for a certain size of container. So a 12oz Sprite and a 20oz Energy drink are the same (by redemption). Anyone who recycles knows that it's a bit different if you go by WEIGHT. Aluminum has a good resale value (unlike plastic and glass) I say that because no person in their right mind would sell their HEAVY and LARGER aluminum containers for only 10 cents. They're worth more if you weigh them. The state-wide average for these containers (which is determined by your state resources agency) knows that larger 10cent cans are the exception not the norm. For recyclers (soccer moms, homeless Joes) an exchange of 10cents for a larger Monster drinks doesn't make sense.

You can also go into a recycling center and ask them ifyou can buy their aluminum but they might look at your funny.

I can tell you are from Michigan because you call it a party store, and you have to pay 10 cents for aluminum. Hows the economy by the way? Choad.
