Do you think my plan is helping anything?

Whenever I get those stupid credit card offers in the mail, or any junk mail with a return envelope, I stuff some misc paper in it (nothing with my name or address) and send it back to the credit card company because someone told me they pay 60 cents or something for the first class return envelope, so it costs them money to get it back. I don't apply for any of these credit cards, but the point is to get them to quit sending unsolicited offers and also to keep mail moving through the postal system, which maybe keeps rates down for the rest of us. It doesn't decrease the amount of junk mail I personally get because I don't put anything in there with my name on it, nor do I call to ask them to take me off their mailing list, but hopefully if enough people did this it would send a message and waste a ton of the credit companies' money.

I did that years ago, I no longer get any more offers for credit cards, and very little junk mail.

I recycle the offers (minus the portion with my name/address), and have removed myself from the mailing/calling lists, and it really does make a huge difference. I support the postal industry by getting back in touch with writing letters occasionally and ordering online.

No, you are just wasting your time and the postal service energy.

Try going to the link listed to get yourself off the mailing lists.

No I don't think it helping anything but it sounds like it makes you feel better and that's all that matters.
