how can we recycle e-waste?

there are a growing number of ways to recycle e-waste. the best is to find a route to reuse it, e.g. give it to a charity or someone who can use it as it is.

once it is in the bin, it gets harder and more costly to process, but most of the components can be recover e.g. plastic, gold, copper and other such stuff.

It depends on what you want to recycle: more and more municipalities are collecting e-waste either on special collection days or regularly. Contact your county, city, or other local solid waste or hazardous waste department. Items like diskettes, CDs, iPods, zip drives, etc. are collected by a few companies, such as Green Disk in Washington state. They have a collection program called TechnoTrash. They have a fee for collection, but if you belong to a group or work for a company that wants to be environmentally responsible, you might put a collection box in your office and collect e-waste and send it in.
