Hi guys,

I am doing a project on computer recycling in Perth, WA. For now I have :
http://www.computer-recycling.com.au
http://www.comrecyclers.org.au
http://www.greenpc.com.au

and actually the WasteWise site seems good too but is down at the moment. Does anyone know any others that are not on the wastewise site or above?

Does anybody know any others?

Thanks!

Hi there...

Earth911.org is one of the best sites to locate recycling information, among other things.

Visit the link in my source for the drop off locations in Washington. Also, you may want to contact your cities environmental coordinator, many cities have quarterly "eWaste" pickup events.

If you are doing a project you need to consider several parameters prior to selecting an e-waste vendor. First, liability. Is this e-waste going to be disposed in a safe and legal manner? You should know the flow of the e-waste from your facility to the ultimate disposal be it reuse, recycle or tear down and destruction. Since e-waste is considered a universal waste by the Feds, you have the responsibility until the end. Obtain a Certificate of Destruction or a Certificate of Recycling.

Next, if you have large quantities there could be some revenue associated with the e-waste. You could potentially receive a settlement. Depends on the age of the equipment, the disposition and the company policies.

I would recommend Technology Conservation Group. This company understands the process and has passed every audit by the corporate EH&S function. There is a site in Portland, OR that could assist you.

The people we use at the office (Financial Deparment) are C.D. Dodd. Their website is:

http://www.recyclers.com.au

From what I understand, they seem to be the most professional in town. We probably send them about a hundred computers per month.
